This project was fun to make! It combined my two favorite things - crafting and organizing. I've thought about making one for awhile and now I think it will really help us make the day easier!

First I gathered all my supplies. My binder, a bunch of folders, colored pens and dividers. I opted for dividers with pockets so I could hold all the papers that come into the house. Hopefully this will take them ALL of my fridge!



Then looking online, I found some printables that would be useful. Any I couldn't find, I made myself in word.

This one is a room designer. We are buying a home in the fall so we'll be designing and decorating new rooms once we move in.


Next I have the dates to remember. This is where I'll record everyone's birthdays and anniversaries so I don't forget any. I can easily glance at a month and know what I need to send out.


In our section, Finance, I have a spot for bills. This records the bills information - name, address, account number, phone number and website.

Here is one spreadsheet I made. Each month will have one of these for all the bills we paid. It's a great way to keep track of duedates, receipts and any notes about the bill.

Once you have everything you need printed, then you just assemble it! I have a few sections so far in mine - home, finance, school, fun and medical.


This is the part I love. The front of my binder was plain white so it was screaming for some decoration. I cut these owls out of vinyl so they would stay on. You can use anything you'd like to use to make it reflect your own style.

Us scrapbookers. We really know how to collect supplies don't we? I know I sure do! That's why I was so thrilled when I stumbled on these great deals at Michaels. Our stores in CT had an additional 90% off clearance items. These would have not been seen by me but a fabulous girl who works there (that I adore!) pointed them out to me as they were just getting marked! I need to remember to bring her a little treat when I go in, she is always so helpful!

Today is the last day of the organize this challenge. For now :) I may be taking more photo's once my camera reader comes in. These mobile pictures are a bit too hazy for me, so I promise to replace them once my camera is back to working order :)

Sizzix. Another item that is old school. I only keep the dies that I truly love, and I use them just for cutting chipboard or foam. I love chipboard and this has saved me alot of $ on buying simple chipboard shapes. I use the white jetmax cubes from michaels to make a small die-cutting rea. These 4 drawer cubes fit the dies (all colors!) perfectly. Even my stampin up ones!

Do you still have your old sizzix dies?

My biggest supply is stickers. I have them all over the place, well I did. Seems I never have the right one. I am trying to not buy themes as much. I prefer the stickers that match the papers, but for now this is what I have.

The drawers are those multi colored ones in the cart. I labeled each drawer for a theme (the one shown is fall/halloween). It's nice to have, I just grab an entire drawer when I'm working on halloween cards or pages and I know exactly what I have to use. No more forgotten stickers!

This post might show my age a little, or at least how long I've scrapbooked. Yes, I still keep brads. I know they are very old school but sometimes they work! I love them for flower centers or to hold together paper. But storing them in anything hidden made me forget they were there.

These cork boards are the kind you put under a plant! I just stuck the brads in there and hung them in my room. I have 3 of them, a friend of mine gave me this idea and its perfect. I see them and use them more.

There is something about tools. I seem to collect them, each one does something different. We need them all don't we? I needed something that could be easily grabbed from where I sat.

These white metal buckets are from targets dollar spot. I used blue vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the titles I wanted. Now it's all organized and I can just grab for what I want. When I go to a crop I just bring the buckets in a tote and I'm ready for cropping on the go!

Well my next huge thing is journaling cards. I don't do project life (but I'd sure like to!) however I love journal cards so I have quite a few. They used to just sit, in a pile, and not get used. I made chipboard dividers and seperated them by theme, now I grab for them all the time!

Do you organize yours?

Since I seem to get more supplies all the time (really, don't we all?) I thought I'd show the way I have things organized currently. However I re-organize All.The.Time. It's never ending, I always think their is a better way.

First we'll start with scraps, we all have tons of those right? I found I wasn't using mine. Now I cut them into 6X6 sheets and organize them this way by color. The leftover 12" borders go into a giant ziploc so that I can use them for punching borders. I've used up alot of scraps this way! I think I found the way I'm going to keep them.

How do you organize yours?

At times I can't scrapbook, by the time I figure out where things are I decide I want to change it, then I dont have any time (usually that takes me hours). Here is what the hubby built today, in addition to what I have :)

This was my pegboard before. Nice idea, but I'd never use my supplies as I couldn't see what was hanging behind each item.




Then under it I had this 6 bin organizer. Again I couldn't "see" into it so I'd just keep sticking things in there and forget about them. Aren't we all guilty of that?
Here is the 4 tier shoe rack, empty. I only used 3 of the 4 racks because I really wanted space to hang longer items. I decided to try a few before I completely got it together, and the find out it didn't work.
 


This is my other shelf. With bins that had stickers organized by theme. I'd look in there sometimes but not often. They just sat and collected dust. ALL of this was going onto this new "clip" storage system.
Here it is! Almost filled up! The shoerack had "baskets" but they had NO bottom as shoes didnt need a bottom. I made my own bottoms. The rack is so easy, it rotates and I can see everything. I took some up close pictures so you could see how much hangs from it. The clips I used were from IKEA. They are the diginet (spelling?) clips that are made for curtains. Pretty affordable. 24 pack is only $4.99. I bought 2 packs and that isn't nearly enough but we have one IKEA in the state so I wasn't going back. For smaller items I starter using paper clips and just hanging them. Worked perfectly!!

I am one of those people that if I don't see it, i forget I have it and never use it. So this is how I now store my brads! They are cork circles and I have them hanging in my scrap area, I use more brads and know when I'm running low on them!
