Danielle here today, my project today is a nice gift box. I called it "It's a hoot" and made it with the Square Box #1 Diecut. The box folds together really nicely together. There is room inside for a giftcard or some chocolates. I put some candy inside here for my aunt.

I couldn't pass them up when I saw them (They come in a set of 3) so I covered it, filled it with candy and am giving it to my BFF for halloween and also her 1st day of work at a new job. Happy October! The Pyramid Box was the perfect unique shape for a giftcard. I put the little card inside and decorated this for a friend's new baby. It was stamped and tied with a ribbon. Definitely a fun way to give a gift card!

I received an email and was asked to review the product. Once I looked at the company's website I knew right away I'd love that opportunity. I sent in a picture and within a weeks time I had my canvas print. I've never had one done, but it came out quite well. It looks similar to a painting and I love having this hanging up. Tuck Top Cube Box

With fall fastly approaching I wanted to make little box I could put something in for the teachers. Since I didn't want the traditional apple theme, I decided on nature. Owls, Tree's and orange/green hues.

I used the Tuck Top Cube Box in orange and then decorated it with ribbons and buttons.

Owl Birthday Box

Hello! My project today is what I call a birthday box. It's a great size box to put a giftcard in or a little piece of jewelry.

The square box #10 by Creative Cuts and More was the ideal size for this.

The owl was stamped, colored in and then diecut. I used pop dots so it would stand out a little on the box.

Make A Card Week - Day 5 Tutorial

It's friday!!! TGIF :) Day 5 is here! I hope you've had a chance to follow along all week and make some cards. I would love to see them, please send a link to me if you made some so I can take a peek!

Supplies:

- I apologize I didn't measure these papers before I glued them on. Sometimes I get so into my card making, my hands take over!

Step 1 is to glue your first pattern paper down. Glue this all the way to the left side (where the fold is)

The next pattern is a full one. Once you have a rectangle cut, round two corners then glue this piece all the way to the right (where the card opens) in the middle of the orange piece.

On the small green piece, before it's glued on take a white gel pen and do a double line of stitching on the top and bottom. You can also do real stitching, I just am not that talented!

Once the white gel pen is dry (this takes a few minutes, careful, if its wet it WILL smudge), glue the green piece down right down the center of the card.

Last is to put your 3D embellishment down onto the green piece. I used this vampire guy. Again, you can use any sentiment you'd like, but I left mine blank until I know who the recipient will be.

Make A Card Week - Day 4 Tutorial

Today is thursday, were almost to the end of the week. The card today is super easy, there are only a few steps.

Supplies:

Simple supplies today
- Star Paper 3 X 2 1/2
- Green 3 1/4 X 2 1/4
- Black 2 X 2 1/2
- White 1 3/4 X 2 1/4

Each patterned piece is going to be layered and adhered. Round all the top corners of each piece. Once layered, add the ribbon to the bottoms, where the layers meet.

If you'd like a title to the card add that. I used Thickers to add "hi". Put your 3D embonlishment on, I choose this little frankenstein. He's silly and perfect for a kids card.

That was effortless right? Good! See you tomorrow :)

Make A Card Week - Day 3 Tutorial

Thank you for coming back for day 3! I hope you liked the first two cards and are looking forward to making another.

Supplies:

I did decide to add one more thing to the card that isn't in the picture - buttons!
- Black Piece 3 X 2 1/2
- Orange 3 1/2 X 3
- Green 1/2 X 4 (two pieces)

Step 1 - Using a corner rounder (I use a corner chomper) round the top two corners of the orange plaid paper. Adhere to card. Then adhere the black plaid right underneath it. Both pieces are straight, just the picture makes them look a bit off ;)

Second, glue on the two green strips. Leave a small space inbetween them so the orange shows thru.

Last step is to thread the buttons (if you choose to) and glue those on. Add your 3d Embellishment, I chose the glittery cat. Final touch is faux stitching with a white gel pen around the orange piece only. If you would like you can stamp (or print) a sentiment. I stamped Trick or Treat and glued that to the black strip.

There we go! Another cute, fast, easy card. Hope to see you on Card # 4!

Make A Card Week - Day 2 Tutorial

Happy Tuesday! I'm so glad you decided to come back for another simple tutorial! Were using up those scraps and making some great halloween cards at the same time!

For day 2 I decided to do a little more "full" card. You can always leave out a few embellishments if you prefer the clean look.

Supplies spread out when I began:

Very few things right?! I love how cards can use up your extra's that you'd just toss or hoard.
Again, the dimensions work for my card but you can easily adjust them for any size card.
- Orange Paper is 3X4
- Purple is 2 X 1 1/2
- The white piece is a journal box that I trimmed down.

The first step has a few "mini steps" inside. I'll post the picture then explain :)

I adhered the orange pattern to the entire card, centering it so a small amount of white showed on each side. Then on the journal box I put all 3 brads on (using my cropadile) and adhered the blue glitter letters to spell "Hi". I wanted a generic, seasonal card this time.

Next adhere the purple piece (I used a swiss dot pattern) right above the journal box. I made the width match so it would line up nicely.

The final result! The last step is to add your embellishment, I chose the little zombie girl. I thought she was cute rather then scary.

Make A Card Week - Day 1 Tutorial

Yeah it's monday!! I know, you don't hear that often huh? Well I love mondays :) Here is our first tutorial for our Make A Card Week (MACW). Any questions let me know, I'll do my best to answer.

Here are the supplies I used. Including a plain white, pre-folded card.

Once those are gathered I cut the pieces into the following sizes. Feel free to adjust depending on the overall size of the card you want to make.
- Scallop Circle 1 1/2 inches
- Circle 1 inch (punch)
- Stripe Paper 3 1/2 X 2 Inches

Step 1: Emboss the white card if desired. I like the look of this! Then adhere the striped pattern piece over the bottom 1/2 of the card.

Step 2: Adhere ribbon over the seam where the striped paper meets the white card. Let Dry well.

Last Step - Glue White circle to scallop circle. Adhere 3D embellishment in the middle. I used the cute purple owl here. Then adhere entire circle to the card, leaving a small part of it hanging off the edge.

You can then add a stamp for a sentiment if you'd like. Since I'm not sure who I'm sending this to I didnt add one yet :)

I know we all love to make cards right? But it can get costly, I find I can easily spend $5-6 per card on supplies. This entire tutorial week is how to make an entire week of cards with your leftovers. Each tutorial has instructions and step by step pictures. I attempted a video but that didnt turn out well with my dog in the room (he was "talking" too much!). Monday will be the first one so stay tuned!

Here is the stash I'm using. It's from last years K&Co Spooktacular Collection. The 12X12 paper pad and the pack of 3D embellishments. I had these leftover from making my layouts and I know this year I will want new stuff. Don't we always? So instead of throwing this out I made my cards out of it.

The only other things I used:
- Ribbon
- Buttons
- Adhesive

All of which I had on hand. I'd love to see what you make this week, if any of my cards inspire you. I tried to make them user friendly so everyone from beginner to experienced can make these. They are a bit 3D and bumpy because.. that's my style :)

My mini album for this was really fun to make. My chlidren always inspire me, but since the beach is a favorite place of ours, this was especially fun.

Hi Everyone! I wanted to post to let you know I have happily joined the Creative Cuts Design Team! I really love what they offer and am thrilled to be apart of it. The Slash Pocket Card came to me at the perfect time. My best friend is having a birthday. Since she is a bright, bubbly person I thought that is how I would make this to match. I loved this card, it's different from a traditional card and so fun!

Then for the inside I wanted to make it look like the birdie was wishing her the birthday greeting so I stamped him, colored him in and drew a word bubble.

Vinyl Wall Decals - DIY for $1

I love all the new decals for the walls, my house has saying in every room. But they get costly. I'm sure you ladies have seen the cricut tutorials on making your own. You can do this with a silhouette too.

Well today Dollar Tree had rolls of White vinyl contact paper for $1!! It is 18 inches wide by 15 yards long so you get ALOT for $1.

I made a quick heart cut out from doodlecharms just to test it. It cut like butter on the cricut (regular blade) and stuck to the wall great. It came off well too and this wall was freshly painted a week ago. Sorry the photo isnt the best, its from my ipod. Just wanted to show you how well it worked!

Homemade Clip it Up Type Storage

I saw this online and loved the idea!!

This was my pegboard before. Nice idea, but I'd never use my supplies as I couldn't see what was hanging behind each item.

Then under it I had this 6 bin organizer. Again I couldn't "see" into it so I'd just keep sticking things in there and forget about them. Aren't we all guilty of that?

Here is the 4 tier shoe rack, empty. I only used 3 of the 4 racks because I really wanted space to hang longer items. I decided to try a few before I completely got it together, and the find out it didn't work.

This is my other shelf. With bins that had stickers organized by theme. I'd look in there sometimes but not often. They just sat and collected dust. ALL of this was going onto this new "clip" storage system.

Here it is! Almost filled up! The shoerack had "baskets" but they had NO bottom as shoes didnt need a bottom. I made my own bottoms. The rack is so easy, it rotates and I can see everything. I took some up close pictures so you could see how much hangs from it. The clips I used were from IKEA. They are the diginet (spelling?) clips that are made for curtains. Pretty affordable. 24 pack is only $4.99. I bought 2 packs and that isn't nearly enough but we have one IKEA in the state so I wasn't going back. For smaller items I starter using paper clips and just hanging them. Worked perfectly!!

If you have any questions let me know! I love the baskets for my larger items :) I made circles to fit inside using old cropper hopper plastic dividers and chipboard !

Reverse diecut

Also punches, i.e. gather/overlap/layer/"bunch up" a lot of puched out leaves for a nice look. Fern leaves can be either layered or strung out in a line. They can face toward or away from each other and look nice both ways, especially when the curve is draped over a corner. Add glitter to the leaves (Can you tell I use leaves often?)

Border punches: Punch out the entire sheet, or just the mat around a photo, even if only one side of the mat. Then there's that type of MS punch that punches out both sides, creating a lovely strip that can be used as a border.

Instead of only brads in the center of flowers, fill those centers with either buttons or rhinestones.

- add a banner (bunting, as shimelle calls it) - the latest and greatest sb'ing trend
- add a cool tag from clothing or a tea bag or etc.
- use real/every day ephemera (ticket stubs, brochures, maps, pressed pennies, etc).

add crepe paper (streamers)
stamp a pattern over the top of silk flowers (before adhering to the page)
machine stitch lace to the layout
add rub-ons
stamp your own personalized phrase on a piece of "twill" ribbon

Scrapbook Resolutions

I've made a goal - which might make some of you say oh my goodness.. I know I sure did. But my New Years Resolution, at least scrapbook wise is to be all caught up, on both my children by June. Actually by the time they are out of school for the summer, so mid June. I've been striving hard to get this done. Got about 40 layouts (some 2 pagers!) done in the past 2 weekends.

Glittered Ornaments

The boys made these ornaments.

- Glass Ornaments

- Floor Polish (liquid)

- Loose Glitter (I used martha stewart)

1. Remove the top off the ornament

2. Pour in some floor polish

3. Swoosh the ornament in all directions til its completely coated

4. Tip it upside down and let it drain.

5. Pour glitter inside of this and shake it up, twirl it around, etc to coat

6. Let Dry, Attach the top (hook) and your done!

Were feeling very xmasy in our house. We stood inline at the wallingford festival for 2 hours in the freezing 40 degree weather to meet Santa. They were great and took 5 minutes with each child to really talk to them. Great experience for the kids. However I next time will be bringing a space heater for myself :)

Thankful

Even though its early, I saw a friend make a list and thought it was a good idea. I'm thankful for so many things, all year, not just at thanksgiving. Here is a short list, many more but these are the ones off the top of my head.

1. Family - I think you are only RELATIVES because of blood relation, but you are FAMILY by how you treat each other and how much you love each other.

2. Healthy children - So so grateful for this. Overall, they are healthy. We have friends who have lost a child and I think that has to be the worst thing.

3. My loving husband. I couldnt list why, it would take the rest of my life to list all the wonderful things about him

4. Creativity - I'm thankful that I am somewhat creative! Sure, there are many others who are more creative, but I enjoy what creativity I have.

5. My dog - he's a rescue and I'm so glad he became part of our family. He's a great dog and is well deserving of our loving home

Practicing my Coloring

My children were home for 4 days straight - the weekend and then monday and tuesday of this week. I tried to entertain them and part of the time they wanted to help me color so I took my prismacolor pencils out and we got busy! Then they "helped" me make some cards, I have some fantastic glue-ers!

I wanted to make some cards that are not the traditional square or circle cards. This one came out so cute! It's going to be for my husbands boss, his wife is expecting twins!

This was made with SCAL! No silly cartridges needed, the file is below. Its in two parts, the first is the bottle shaped card. The second are the "pieces" of the nipple and blue ring to paper piece it :)
